Sun Yue was born in Cangzhou city, Hebei province on December 6, 1985. In the 2007 NBA draft, Sun Yue was selected by the Lakers in the 40th order, and won the NBA championship with the team in 1999. In the same year, he was laid off by the Lakers. In 2009, Sun Yue signed a contract with Knicks, but the contract was terminated in less than a month. In 2014, Sun Yue was loaned to CBA Beijing men’s basketball to help the team win the CBA championship in the current season. Sun Yue thus became the first player in history to have both NBA and CBA championship rings. In men’s basketball 2018, Beijing canceled the contract with Sun Yue, and in men’s basketball 2019, Beijing control officially announced the signing of Sun Yue. On October 16, 2021, Sun Yue officially retired.
